Boum is designed for several weeks without daily watering. The water tank is available in various sizes and automatically continues to supply your plants – every day, on weekends, and even when you're on holiday. A water level sensor tells you when you need to refill.
You can use Boum with drippers to water your own pots, raised beds, or your garden. Additionally, you can expand Boum with pots where plants self-water from below using wicks.
The plant takes what it needs.
In the Boum pots of our Core and Pro lines, a 2 L water reservoir sits underground. Wicks draw exactly as much water up to each plant as it needs. Boum automatically refills the reservoir.
Because the water comes from below, the surface remains drier and less evaporates – just like in nature. The roots grow towards the water, and your plants stay reliably supplied without you having to water daily.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions about Boum
How much does the Boum irrigation system cost?
It depends on what you want. We have three product lines: Drip, Core, and Pro, with different components. You can assemble your individual system entirely according to your needs and even combine our product lines. For an introduction to the Boum world, we recommend sets:
Boum Drip Set (smart drip irrigation): CHF 159 (if you want to continue using your own pots).
Boum Core Set (wick irrigation): CHF 199. Limited edition!
How much water does the boum irrigation system use?
The Boum water tank holds 32 liters (Core) or 35 liters (Pro). The Pro version also offers an extension with a 55-liter water tank. In the height of summer, an outdoor pot consumes an average of 0.5 to 1 liter of water per day. This means that with 3 pots, you'll need to refill the 35-liter tank every 2 to 4 weeks in summer, with 5 pots every 1 to 2 weeks, and so on. Naturally, the larger the plant, the greater the water consumption.
How do I install the Boum system?
