The tank holds 35 liters of water. But the real magic lies in the solar-powered controller. This seals the tank and is the brain of the system. It waters your plants daily with a built-in pump, for up to 20 days without refilling.
So you don't have to worry about your plants while you're on vacation—Boum takes care of it. And thanks to the Wi-Fi connection, you can keep an eye on your plants from anywhere. Sensors measure water consumption and the balcony climate and send notifications to the Boum app to help you and your plants stay happy throughout the year.

Boum's designer planters, available as pots and balcony boxes, have a unique feature: capillary wicks that draw water from the pot's built-in reservoir, ensuring optimal soil moisture.
With Boum planters, you can grow trees, vegetables, herbs, flowers, and shrubs—with beautiful results that surpass anything you can achieve with conventional pots! The pots connect to the water tank via an unobtrusive, easy-to-install hose, providing a completely self-sufficient water supply for several weeks. Boum pots are made from 80% recycled mineral-plastic blend with a hand-finished finish. They are decorative, shock- and shatter-resistant, easy to move, and UV- and frost-resistant.
Constant soil moisture
The self-regulating, calibrated wick irrigation system ensures constant soil moisture. A float valve regulates the water supply. A quick-connect connector allows for easy hose connection.

Boum or drip irrigation?
Why is the Boum system better than conventional drip irrigation? It's simple. The controller measures the water level in the water tank and pumps water into our containers. From there, the water is drawn up into the soil via wicks. The soil moisture regulates itself according to the plant's water needs, creating an optimal moisture gradient for good root development. Completely self-regulating, even without electricity or a water connection.

How often do I have to refill the water tank?
In midsummer, a pot outdoors uses an average of 0.5 - 1 litre of water per day. This means that with 3 pots you fill up the tank approximately every 3 weeks, and with 5 pots approximately every 2 weeks.
Indoors, a pot uses about 0.1 L of water per day all year round.
How many Boum pots can I connect to an irrigation system?
You can connect up to 12 plant pots to one water tank. One pot uses about 0.5 - 1 L of water per day outdoors in midsummer, and about 0.1 L per day indoors all year round.
Does Boum also work without WiFi?
Yes. The irrigation must be connected to the WLAN once for configuration. It then works autonomously, even without WiFi. In this case, no sensor data is displayed in the app.
Can I use my own flower pots?
Boum only works with Boum planters.
However, you can place them in other containers (outer pots) and continue to use your own colors and shapes.
Which soil should I use?
For outdoor plants, we recommend the Boum potting soil, which was specially developed for Boum irrigation and Boum plants. You can also use your own soil. It is important that it has a good connection to the wicks and draws the water up into the upper layers.
For houseplants we recommend Boum houseplant soil.
Which plants can I grow with the irrigation system?
We have successfully tested the Boum system with many different indoor and outdoor plants. The system is particularly suitable for plants that like to grow in moist soil. Plants that prefer dry soil (e.g. succulents) are less suitable. If you order plants from us, you are on the safe side - they are definitely suitable for the system.
