Boum ist ein Start-Up aus Bern, welches Ökologie und Technik verbindet und damit ein automatisches Bewässerungssystem für Pflanzen entwickelt hat, mithilfe dessen alle Menschen Pflanzen bei sich zuhause anbauen und erleben können.

Damit wollen wir unseren Beitrag leisten zu grüneren Städten mit mehr Biodiversität ,und den Menschen helfen, die Verbindung zwischen Mensch und Natur wiederherzustellen.

Bei der Art der Bewässerung haben wir uns von der Natur inspirieren lassen. Durch die Subirrigation (Bewässerung von unten) wird bei Boum der gesamte Wasserverbrauch durch die Pflanze reguliert, ohne vorgängiges Einstellen von Pumpintervallen und Pumpdauer. Die Pflanze holt sich also jederzeit genau so viel Wasser aus dem (Grund-)Boden, wie sie gerade benötigt. Wie in der Natur!

Dies führt einerseits zu gesünderen Pflanzen, weil sie stärker und schneller verwurzeln und somit stabiler und robuster werden, andererseits zu einem massiv effizienteren Wasserverbrauch als bei herkömmlichen (Tröpfchen-)Bewässerungssystemen, weil nur dann Wasser verbraucht wird, wenn die Pflanze es gerade benötigt.

Boum ist für alle Menschen geeignet, welche gerne die Magie von eigenen Pflanzen erleben möchten.

Die Boum Bewässerung ist ein Subirrigations-System, das Wasser wird den Pflanzen also von unten zugeführt. Dies funktioniert mittels eines eigens entwickelten Dochtsystems.

Jeder Boum Topf besteht aus einem Wasserreservoir (unten) und einem Erdbehälter (oben). Die Dochte verbinden diese zwei Teile, in dem sie unten das Wasser aufsaugen und oben an die Erde abgeben. Wenn die Pflanze nun durstig ist, saugt sie Wasser aus der Erde auf, was wiederum dazu führt, dass die Erde sich aus dem Reservoir über die Dochte neues Wasser ansaugt. Somit ist die Erde immer gleichmässig feucht - ideale Bedingungen für die Pflanzen!

Die Reservoire der Töpfe werden dann 1x täglich durch die Steuerung und den Wassertank neu aufgefüllt.

Die Boum Steuerung ist das smarte Herzstück des Boum Systems. Es besteht aus Sensoren welche den Wasserspiegel und den Wasserdurchfluss messen, einer Pumpe welche das Wasser zu den Töpfen transportiert, einer solarbetriebenen Batterie, Temperatursensoren sowie einer WLAN-Verbindung, um die Daten an die Boum App zu übermitteln.

Die Steuerung ist als runder Deckel konzipiert, welcher direkt auf dem Wassertank sitzt und von dort das Wasser zu den Reservoiren der Töpfe transportiert. 1x pro Tag werden so alle Reservoire automatisch mit Wasser aufgefüllt, so dass die Pflanzen nie im Trockenen sitzen.

Nein! Boum wurde speziell entwickelt für Menschen ohne einen Wasseranschluss auf dem Balkon, da dies gerade auf kleineren (Stadt-)Balkonen oftmals nicht gegeben ist. Der Boum Wassertank dient als Wasserspeicher und kann alle paar Wochen (du wirst benachrichtigt!) von Hand aufgefüllt werden. Die Boum Steuerung fängt zudem das Regenwasser aus, welches auf den Wassertank fällt.

In midsummer, a pot outdoors uses an average of 0.5-1L of water per day. This means that if you have 5 pots, you will need to refill the tank every 1-2 weeks in summer, and if you have 3 pots, you will need to refill the tank every 2-3 weeks. Note: The larger the plant, the more water it will use.

Indoors, a pot uses about 0.1L of water per day. A full tank will therefore last for several weeks or months.

That's not necessary :) The system is very easy to set up. Our videos show you how it's done. Setup takes about 15 minutes.

We have successfully tested the irrigation system with many different indoor and outdoor plants. The system is particularly suitable for plants that like to grow in moist soil. Plants that like to dry out (e.g. succulents) are less suitable. If you order plants from us, you are on the safe side - they are definitely suitable for the system.

The irrigation is not designed for temperatures below freezing. If you use the system outdoors, we recommend emptying the containers in winter and storing the controller indoors during the winter.

The system can be used indoors all year round.

Yes. The irrigation must be connected to the WLAN once for configuration. It then works autonomously, even without WiFi. In this case, no sensor data is displayed in the app.

Yes. In this case, we recommend an LTE router with a cheap IoT data subscription. This means you can always keep an eye on your irrigation in your second home.

Yes, the pots are connected to the tank via a hose. We supply black 7 mm PVC hoses with Quick Connect system and hose cutter with the irrigation. So laying is very easy. The connection is located at the bottom of the pot so that the hoses can be placed discreetly.

Spezielle Kapillardochte verbinden diese zwei Teile, in dem sie unten das Wasser aufsaugen und oben an die Erde abgeben. Wenn die Pflanze nun durstig ist, saugt sie Wasser aus der Erde auf, was dazu führt, dass der Feuchtigkeitsgehalt der Erde abnimmt. Dadurch wird über die Dochte automatisch Wasser aus dem darunterliegenden Reservoir nachgezogen (wie ein Schwamm, der sich mit Wasser vollsaugt). Somit ist die Erde immer gleichmässig feucht - ideale Bedingungen für die Pflanzen!

Die Reservoire der Töpfe werden dann 1x täglich durch die Steuerung nachgefüllt, und zwar mit immer genau so viel Wasser, wie die Pflanze seit dem letzten Auffüllen benötigt hat. Ein eingebautes Schwimmerventil reguliert den Wasserzufluss mechanisch.

Die Boum Core Töpfe werden aus PP hergestellt, sind relativ dünnwändig und dadurch äusserst leicht. Sie sind in einer abgerundeten Form und momentan in der Farbe kieselgrau und einem Volumen von 13 L erhältlich.

Die Boum Pro Töpfe sind aus recyceltem PET und Kieselerde hergestellt und von Hand fertiggestellt. Sie sind dickwändiger, eignen sich sowohl für kleinere als auch grössere Pflanzen und sind in 3 verschiedenen Farben (grau, taupe, weiss) und 2 Formen (rund, länglich) verfügbar.

Ja, alle Boum Töpfe sind mit allen Steuerungen und Wassertanks kompatibel, weil sie dieselben Anschlüsse haben. Es können problemlos Töpfe von verschiedenen Produktlinien an ein System angeschlossen werden.

You can connect up to 12 pots to one water tank. Outdoors, a pot uses 0.5 - 1L of water per day in midsummer, indoors it uses around 0. L of water per day all year round.

Boum irrigation only works with Boum planters (pots). However, you can place these in other containers (outside pots) and continue to use your own colors and shapes.

At the moment we are offering Boum in a subtle color - the plants provide the colors! However, our range is constantly being expanded to include other pot shapes and colors. You will find out when the time comes in the newsletter.

If you are using the system outside, we recommend the Boum potting soil, which was specially developed for Boum irrigation. However, you can also use your own soil. It is important that it has a good connection to the wicks and draws the water up into the upper layers.

If you use the system indoors, we recommend Boum houseplant soil.

Die Boum Pflanzenerde wurde von uns speziell entwickelt und ist auf die Subirrigation der Boum Töpfe ausgelegt. Dank der beigemischten Holzhäcksel und Kieselsteine ist sie sehr strukturreich und nicht zu "dicht", so dass das Wasser optimal aufgesaugt und verteilt werden kann. Sie ist zudem mit Pflanzenkohle angereichert, natürlich vorgedüngt und ein zu 100% Schweizer Produkt, ohne umweltschädliches Torf oder importierte Kokosfasern.

Die Boum Pflanzenerde entsteht aus einem Nebenprodukt der Schweizer Zuckerrübenproduktion, wird für uns chargenweise produziert und abgepackt und ist damit so frisch wie möglich.

The Boum potting soil is a universal substrate that works with most commercially available outdoor plants.

The Boum houseplant soil works for most houseplants (except succulents).

The Boum potting soil is organically pre-fertilized. Depending on the plant, the fertilization lasts for 4 - 6 weeks. You can then add more fertilizing with the Boum fertilizer. The app tells you when the right time is.

The Boum potting soil consists exclusively of by-products from Swiss forestry and agriculture and contains biochar - making it very climate-friendly and good for nature.

The Boum houseplant soil consists of pumice, lava and expanded clay and is free of peat and coconut. This also makes it very climate-friendly.

Boum soil is approved for organic farming.

Boum plants and soil are produced entirely in Switzerland from Swiss raw materials. The hardware is developed and assembled in Switzerland. We source hardware components from international suppliers.

Our soil is peat-free and contains biochar to store CO2. The material for our water tanks and pots is 80% recycled and designed to last a long time. Our vegetable and herb seedlings come from organic production and our wildflowers are local Swiss mixtures. In this way, we and our customers are making a contribution to climate protection and biodiversity.

It's simple: If you are dissatisfied with our hardware within 60 days of purchase, send it back to us in the original packaging. We will then refund you the purchase price after checking the device. Does not apply to soil and plants.

Unsere Produkte sind im Versand relativ teuer, weil sie entweder sperrig (z.B. Töpfe, Tanks) oder relativ schwer sind (z.B. Erden). Wir versuchen, den grössten Teil der entstehenden Versand- und Verpackungskosten abfedern zu können.
