The dwarf maple "Alex" has golden yellow, slightly serrated leaves and grows in a compact shape. Due to its light-colored leaves, it feels most at home in a semi-shady location. The dwarf maple is a real asset to any balcony!

This dwarf maple is a perennial plant and comes in a 7 liter container. It can be planted directly into the Boum system and grows optimally with the Boum soil and irrigation.

The trees are pre-grown by our partner nursery and delivered to your home conveniently and securely packaged from March 2024.

At the time of delivery, the tree is approximately 70 - 80 cm tall. Depending on the season, the plant may be pruned back. However, the plant will recover quickly in the Boum system.

Lighting conditions

Partial shade

The dwarf maple (Acer palmatum) prefers a semi-shady location. Make sure that the dwarf maple is not exposed to excessive heat and dryness. It should also be protected from the blazing midday sun, as its light-colored leaves can react sensitively to this. Also make sure that the pot is not exposed to too much wind, otherwise it may topple over.
The dwarf maple is sensitive to pruning and should therefore only be pruned in exceptional cases and in August.

Moist

With the Boum system, the dwarf maple (Acer palmatum) automatically receives the optimum amount of water without water logging or drying out.
If you do not have a Boum system, you should water the plant regularly so that it has evenly moist soil without water logging. The plant is only partially frost-hardy and perennial and should be placed against a house wall in winter where it is somewhat protected.
