This year, the Boum family includes three product lines: Pro, Core, and Drip. The right irrigation system for every need and plant plan. All operate on a proven principle, smart and automatic – and can even be combined. But what are the differences, and for whom and which application is each product line suitable? We explain and help you choose your individual Boum system.

Boum works! The smart irrigation system for healthy plants has proven itself over the past few years. But that doesn't mean we stop thinking ahead. We asked you about your needs and refined the technology. The result: In addition to Boum Pro, there is now also Boum Core and now also Boum Drip. All of course irrigate automatically and smartly according to the proven principle, all are controllable via the app. The key to your choice: all systems can be combined with each other, so that large areas can be equipped as well as a small start and the gradual build-up of an individual system.
Boum Pro – our original for all situations
Boum Pro is the first line of our product family. With these products, you can assemble your system entirely according to your wishes and personal needs, without any limitations. Are you planning a herb garden? Then use the smaller 15-liter pots and place them on your balcony. This also works with height differences, the pump can handle up to 3 meters! Or do you need some privacy from curious neighbors? The 30-liter pots are even suitable for small fruit trees from which you can snack or behind which you can hide.

How Boum Pro works
Accessories: Water tank with control unit, hoses, accessories and one 15 L Pro pot
Boum pots have a water reservoir at the bottom of the pot. From here, the plant draws water up into its roots via wicks as needed – a capillary principle as in nature. The pots are connected to the water tank via hoses, and a smart control unit ensures that the right amount of water is always pumped in and the reservoir in the pot is never empty. Sensors check the water level and report via app when the tank needs refilling – usually after several weeks. The system works autonomously: a solar panel provides electricity, and thanks to the water tank, it does not need to be connected to a tap.
Boum Core – the product for beginners or small projects
Since last September, you can pre-order our functional entry-level line Boum Core (delivery in time for the season in March). The proven wick irrigation is the same as for Pro, but for Core, the pots have been adapted: Thanks to a different material, these are more compact and lighter, and also more affordable. This makes the system not only easier to send in a box or carry from the hardware store by the handle, but also ideal for small balconies and beginners. For a first apartment or limited space, the 13-liter pots are ideal.

How Boum Core works
Accessories: One 32 L water tank with control unit, hoses, accessories and two Boum Core pots (13 liters)
Boum Core works on the same principle as Boum Pro. Control unit and water tank with pump, the water reservoirs at the bottom of the pots, and the drawing up of water by capillary action. Here too, the plants decide how much water they need, and you receive all necessary information via the app – you can check the status at any time and receive push notifications when the water in the tank runs low.
Boum Drip – Drip irrigation, but smart
In April, we are expanding our product portfolio with a third line: Boum Drip. We are currently collecting reservations for one of only 200 available units on a waiting list. This time, we've taken on conventional drip irrigation and made it more plant-friendly and smarter according to the Boum principle. Instead of always supplying the same preset amount of water, Boum Drip relies on the location and weather data available to your system. This way, your plants won't burn or drown if a heatwave suddenly rolls in during your vacation or if it's rainier at home than expected. You can stay completely relaxed on vacation and keep an eye on the situation in the flowerpot via app.

Tip:
With every system, you can also use any container as a water tank, as long as it has a diameter of 40 centimeters for the control unit.
How Boum Drip works
Accessories: 20 Boum drippers, hoses, water tank with control unit and pump
Boum Drip works a little differently than Pro and Core, as you don't use Boum pots here and the system doesn't rely on wick irrigation, but on classic drip irrigation. You simply insert one of the supplied Boum drippers near the roots of your plants into the soil of your existing pots. For particularly thirsty plants, more drippers may be necessary - the app will advise you here depending on the selected plant. The hoses are connected to the water tank as with Boum Core and Boum Pro.
In the app, you can set up your system as usual. You can either select the manual mode, where the pump irrigates for a fixed set pumping duration, or the automatic mode, where the pumping duration is dynamically adapted to the weather conditions. As with Core and Pro, you can view all data at any time.
Important: Boum Drip is an outdoor product and not suitable for indoors! For an indoor system for your houseplants, Boum Core or Boum Pro are best.

Perhaps you want to test the Boum system first, see if smart app-controlled irrigation is for you, or convince yourself of its success before going all in? Or maybe you want to replace only a part of your pots with the smart system first and then gradually swap out the others? That's no problem, you can combine our three product lines with each other.
First apartment, introduction to smart plant care
Especially when moving into an apartment, many people are initially hesitant and living space is usually limited. Nevertheless, plants are a must – they not only look good, but also increase our well-being. In such a case, Boum Core for beginners and newcomers to the system is suitable, for a few first plants or herbs, or some flowers to green up the balcony. At the beginning, you can test with one or two pots and convince yourself that you really don't need a green thumb for smart plant care. If you like Boum, you can expand the system as you wish. This is also a great gift with repeat potential!
Start with Drip and complement with Boum pots
Are you already an avid gardener, but the constant watering is becoming too much, or you don't know how to water your plants while on vacation? Then you can start with a Boum Drip Set. Use the new Boum product line together with your already planted pots to ensure proper irrigation for weeks – regardless of the weather. If you want to add pots later, be it one for a small tree or a balcony box for flowers, you can simply connect them to the existing system.
Which Boum system is right for my balcony?

Ideally, you should consider which plants you want where and put together your system. You can combine all three product lines!
Can I use Boum without a water connection?
All Boum product lines work with a water tank. No water connection needed! This is ideal for outdoor use and avoids unsightly corners. The narrow hoses of the Boum systems are discreet. Thanks to sensors, you will be informed via app when the tank needs refilling – often only after several weeks.
What is the difference between Boum Drip and conventional drip irrigation?
With conventional drip systems, you set a fixed amount of water. Boum Drip, on the other hand, adjusts the amount of water to the weather and the needs of the plants. The smart control ensures that your plant gets neither too much nor too little water, even with sudden weather changes.
Can I expand my Boum system later?
Yes, all Boum product lines are combinable. You can start with one or two pots or even the Drip system and then gradually expand as needed. All components are summarized in the app.
How complex is setting up a Boum system?
Our promise: The setup is really simple. You only need a few minutes and simply plug the system together. Then you do a test pump to make sure everything is in place as it should be – from now on, the Boum system takes over plant care.
