The Andean berry gives your balcony an exotic touch and is easy to cultivate. When ripe, the plant bears sweet, yellow-orange fruits, which make a wonderful snack between meals. With its small, cute lanterns in which the fruits are packed, the Andean berry is also very attractive to look at!

The Andean berry is an annual plant and is grown sustainably. It can be planted directly into the Boum system and grows optimally with the Boum soil and watering.

Note: As the Andean berry can grow over 1.5 m high, we recommend tying the plant up.

The seedlings are pre-grown in spring and delivered to your home conveniently and securely packaged from May 2024. As the plant does not tolerate frost, this is the perfect time to plant it in your home.

The Andean Berry (Physalis peruviana) prefers a bright and sunny location in order to grow optimally and produce fruit. It is also important to protect the location from wind and draughts, as the plant can react sensitively to these conditions.
If you do not have a Boum system, it may be necessary to water the plant daily during the summer months. Fertilising is also important, especially during the growth and fruiting phase. It is best to use Boum fertiliser, which decomposes slowly over time and releases its nutrients into the soil.
