This bamboo forms lush green, elongated leaves and has a branched, upright growth habit. It can grow several meters tall over the years and makes a wonderful privacy screen. It also brings an exotic touch to your home and turns your balcony into a place of relaxation.

The potted bamboo is a perennial plant and comes in a 10 L container. It can be planted directly into the Boum system and grows optimally with the Boum soil and irrigation.

The shrubs are pre-grown by our partner nursery and delivered to your home conveniently and securely packaged from March 2024.

Depending on the season, the plant may be cut back at the time of delivery. In the Boum system, however, the plant will quickly recover and start to grow.

Lighting conditions

The potted bamboo (Fargesia rufa) prefers a semi-shady to sunny location and can also cope with somewhat harsher conditions. Nevertheless, make sure that the pot is not exposed to too much wind, otherwise it may fall over.

Moist

With the Boum system, the potted bamboo (Fargesia rufa) automatically receives the optimum amount of water without water logging or the plant drying out.
If you do not have a Boum system, you should water the plant regularly so that it has evenly moist soil without water logging. The plant is frost-hardy and perennial and can stay outside all winter. However, it should also be watered sufficiently in winter as it evaporates a lot of water through its leaves.
