No. 1: Choose the right tree
Think about where you would like to have a tree on your balcony or terrace and what the conditions are there. ☀️
- Is the tree in direct sunlight?
- Does a ray of light rarely pass by there?
- How much space do you have available?
Once you have all that sorted out, check which tree is suitable for your balcony. The selection is huge, from deciduous trees to fruit trees and conifers. We have tested a few trees and added them to our range. Perhaps you will find something here that would look great on your balcony.
No. 2: Prune your tree
For trees in pots, regular pruning is even more important than for trees growing in the wild.
In the fall before winter sets in or just before spring, the trees can be carefully pruned if necessary. This is usually for aesthetic reasons or if individual branches are growing inward or are diseased. It is usually not necessary to prune small trees, but if you prefer to keep them in a certain shape, this is possible.
No. 3: Choose the right pot size
Make sure you choose a pot that is not too big for your tree. The bigger the pot, the more soil will fit in it. This in turn increases the risk of root rot, as more water is stored in the soil. However, not all of this water may be absorbed by the roots.💧

No. 4: The question of irrigation
To avoid waterlogging at the bottom of the pot, the bottom of the pot should have holes in it. This allows excess water to drain out of the pot. Remember to empty the saucer if necessary!
