Matthew Erb
Matthias knows almost everything there is to know about plants - and that is no exaggeration. He is a professor and co-director of the institute at the University of Bern and has almost 25 years of experience in biology and plant sciences. He was educated at Imperial College, ETHZ and the Max Planck Institute. He is a proud father of two children, a passionate organic farmer and, most importantly, the initiator and co-founder of Boum. Matthias holds several patents and is a multiple award winner, from teacher of the year to being in the top 1% of the world's most cited scientists in animal and plant science.

Ludwig Auer
Ludwig could probably build rockets, but instead he uses his talent to help you reconnect with nature. An ETH graduate with a PhD in seismology, his early career saw him create three-dimensional models of the Earth based on earthquake data and he was part of the team that launched Tracktics, a wearable for football players. After designing an irrigation system for himself with the help of his father, he realized his true passion lies in bringing joy to people by helping them.

Can Boum 3 be used indoors and outdoors?
Yes, definitely! All the products offered here are suitable for the living room and office as well as for the balcony and terrace. For outdoor use you should use our outdoor soil - and of course the right plants .
When will Boum 3 be delivered?
We deliver Boum 3 products and soil towards the end of March, in time for the start of the season. We deliver frost-sensitive plants from the end of April. Certain products are also available earlier (see information on the individual products).
What is the difference between Boum 3 and the previous systems?

Can I use Boum 3 with old containers?
Yes, Boum 3 is 100% compatible with old systems :-).
Can I connect the new planters to my old Boum system?
Yes, the systems are 100% compatible with each other.
Can I purchase a Boum 3 controller separately to upgrade my Boum 2 system?
Not at the moment, but we are working on an upgrade offer.
