Mehr grüne Balkone ohne Aufwand – mit dieser Idee eines Projekts der Universität Bern begann unsere Geschichte. Unsere Boum Systeme haben bereits tausenden Kunden in der Schweiz zu gesunden Pflanzen verholfen.
Gleichzeitig haben wir Feedback gesammelt und unsere Idee weiterentwickelt, um Boum für alle zugänglich zu machen. Das Ergebnis: Boum Core. Die bewährte Technologie bleibt die gleiche, doch die Töpfe sind etwas kleiner und leichter, kompakter dank neuem Verpackungskonzept – und deutlich preiswerter. The Boum Core Set is ideal for easily and affordably adding greenery to any balcony or terrace. Whether with herbs, vegetables, flowers, or small trees – Boum Core makes growing plants child's play!
The Boum Core Set includes a Boum controller (smart pump), a Boum Core water tank with a 32 L capacity, and two Boum Core pots with a soil volume of 13 L each.
- Automatic watering: Simply fill the 32-liter Core water tank and let it take care of watering all your plants for you – always with exactly the amount they need. One fill lasts for weeks (outdoors) to months (indoors)*.
- Boum Controller – the smart pump: The Boum Controller – a smart, solar-powered pump – is the heart of the irrigation system and is equipped with various sensors. It not only looks extremely elegant on the water tank, but also serves as a rain collector, thus saving additional water. Furthermore, the pump can be used as a stand for a Boum pot. This way, no space is wasted!
- Boum Core Pots 13 L: Boum Core pots guarantee the success of your gardening dreams. Plants draw up precisely the amount of water they need via capillary wicks. This means the plants are never sitting directly in water, yet still have access to water 24 hours a day. Additional overflow holes prevent waterlogging, even when the pots are exposed to rain.

Boum Core Water Tank & Controller
The tank holds 32 liters of water. The real magic, however, lies in the control unit, which includes the solar-powered pump. This pump serves as the tank lid and is the brain of the system. It refills the reservoirs of the connected pots once a day, ensuring the plants always have water available. Outdoors, a single tankful lasts for several weeks, and indoors, even for several months! So you don't have to worry about your plants while you're on vacation or busy with everyday life – Boum takes care of them.
Boum Core pots
The Boum Core pots have a unique feature: capillary wicks at the bottom draw water from the pot's built-in reservoir into the soil, ensuring optimal soil moisture. This provides plants with 24/7 access to water without the risk of waterlogging. Furthermore, the plant itself regulates its water consumption, drawing only as much water as it needs at any given time. The system then automatically refills the water reservoir and supplies the plant with the necessary water.
With Boum Core pots, you can grow vegetables, herbs, flowers, shrubs, and houseplants – with beautiful results that surpass anything you've achieved with conventional pots and watering methods! The pots are connected to the water tank via a discreet, easy-to-install hose, providing a completely autonomous water supply for several weeks. Discreet cable channels allow for virtually invisible tubing, even indoors. Made of polypropylene (PP), Boum pots are decorative, impact- and shatter-resistant, easy to move, and UV- and frost-resistant.

The Boum app provides you with all the essential information about your system and your plants. You can control the system from anywhere. The Boum app includes notifications for refilling the water tank and fertilizing, frost warnings, climate data, and much more. In addition, the app features a library of over 3,500 plants, chat support, video tutorials – it has everything you need. We develop and expand the Boum app ourselves, and regularly deliver new features so you can grow and enjoy your plants even better.

Ist Boum Core für Anfänger geeignet?
Ja, auf jeden Fall! Boum Core wurde speziell für Anfänger:innen entwickelt, ist aber auch für erfahrenere Gärtner:innen perfekt. Der Aufbau ist denkbar einfach, das System übernimmt automatisiert die Bewässerung und erinnert dich zum richtigen Zeitpunkt ans Düngen. Die App liefert nicht nur den Überblick, sondern auch hilfreiche Erklärungen und unser KI-Gärtnerassistent Herby sowie unser menschlicher Support stehen dir immer zur Seite. So steht einem grünen Balkon nichts mehr im Wege.
Wie oft muss der Wassertank befüllt werden?
Das hängt von mehreren Faktoren ab: Standort (Sonne oder Schatten), Pflanzenart, Anzahl der Töpfe pro Tank und natürlich vom Wetter. Tests haben gezeigt, dass auf Balkon und Terrasse im Hochsommer pro Topf täglich etwa 0,5–0,8 Liter verbraucht werden. Bei zwei angeschlossenen Töpfen muss der Wassertank erst nach etwa drei bis vier Wochen wieder gefüllt werden. Du kannst also unbesorgt in den Urlaub fahren!
Welche Pflanzen und Erde eignen sich für das Boum System?
Grundsätzlich kannst du Erde und Pflanzen deiner Gärtnerei nutzen. Wichtig ist, dass die Pflanze zur Topfgrösse passt. Wir haben viele Pflanzen getestet, entsprechende Empfehlungen mit den jeweiligen Topfgrössen findest du auf unserer Website und in der Boum App.
Bei unserer speziell abgestimmten Erde können wir durch Tests garantieren, dass die Zusammensetzung optimal für die Kapillarbewässerung im Boum System geeignet ist:
