Gemüse
Gemüsepflanzen sind im Boum System besonders gut aufgehoben, weil sie für die Fruchtbildung möglichst konstant Zugang zu Wasser brauchen – genau das stellt das Reservoir im Boum Topf sicher 🍅.
Mit Boum kannst du eine ganze Bandbreite an Gemüsepflanzen anbauen. Nach einiger Zeit lohnt sich meist eine Rankhilfe, damit die Pflanzen unter dem Gewicht der Früchte stabil bleiben.
Und das Beste: In unseren Tests sind die Pflanzen mit dem Boum System über 40% besser gewachsen als in herkömmlichen Töpfen – Details findest du im verlinkten Blogpost.

Herbs
Who wouldn't want to pick fresh herbs from their balcony every day to freshen up their salad or enhance their sauce! In the Boum balcony planter, you can plant up to 3 herb seedlings side by side.
Whether familiar herbs like basil, rosemary and mint, or something more special like lovage, lovage and nasturtium: all herbs sprout in the Boum pot!
Note: Certain herbs, such as basil or sage, don't like being exposed to rain. It's best to place these herbs in a covered area.
Flowers/Wildflowers
Do you want a blooming balcony or windowsill that bees and butterflies will also enjoy?
The Boum system allows you to cultivate a wide variety of flowers and wildflowers. Whether it's thirsty geraniums or less water-dependent plants like Russian sage, the Boum pot provides plants with precisely the amount of water they need, without the risk of waterlogging.
Note: Orchids are among the few flowering plants that are not suitable for the Boum system because they have very specific watering requirements.

How about a small apple tree on the terrace? Or fresh cherries that you can harvest from your own balcony?
The Boum system even allows you to plant small trees! Some nurseries cultivate special dwarf trees for this purpose, which grow compactly and remain relatively small even after several years, so you don't have to repot them into a larger container every year. There are almost no limitations, and in addition to fruit trees, ornamental trees (e.g., Japanese maples) as well as Mediterranean trees like olives, oranges, or oleanders are possible.
Note: When choosing your tree, ensure that the root volume is compatible with the Boum pots and can be placed inside. For the 15L Boum pot, the root ball should not exceed 7L; for the 30L Boum pot, the root ball should be no larger than 15L.
seed
Do you prefer to grow your plants directly from seed?
This is easily possible, however, we recommend not planting the seeds directly into the Boum pot, but first letting them germinate in a seedling pot before transferring the seedlings into the Boum pots after a few weeks.
Zimmerpflanzen

Ob groß wachsende Monstera oder eine zarte Friedenslilie: Viele bekannte (und auch weniger bekannte) Pflanzen fühlen sich im Boum Topf dauerhaft wohl. Dank integrierter Sicherheitsmaßnahmen musst du dir zudem keine Sorgen machen, dass Wasser austritt und dein Parkett beschädigt.
In Kombination mit unserer Zimmerpflanzenerde entsteht eine konstante Bodenfeuchte, ohne dass die Pflanzen unter Staunässe leiden.
Hinweis: Für trockenliebende Pflanzen wie Kakteen oder Sukkulenten ist die Boum Dochtbewässerung (Core, Pro) nicht geeignet🌵.
Plant care
Plants in the Boum system can also be infested by pests, especially if they are outdoors and near other plants.
Besides chemical pesticides, there's also a natural way to get rid of unwanted guests: beneficial insects. Nematodes, parasitic wasps, predatory mites, and even ladybug larvae target specific pests, protecting your plants in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.
