Bern is blooming!
We are Boum, a young startup from Bern. Together with you, we want to make Bern greener this year.
For this one-off initiative, we have 500 Boum systems available this year, which we are offering at cost.
Our system combines automatic watering, inspiring knowledge and unique plants. Ideal for a green balcony without much effort.

Our projects so far
Postgasse
In 2022, we equipped a single building on Postgasse with our watering system from top to bottom and filled it with greenery. The residents loved it.
Switzerland's greenest street
Together with the University of Bern and partners from the public and business sectors, we have brought greenery to the whole of Postgasse from 2023 to today. With over 200 plant species, it is now the street with the highest biodiversity in the city.
Gutenbergstrasse
In 2023, together with the residents and Wirz-Tanner Immobilien, we equipped every balcony in a building on Gutenbergstrasse with Boum systems to improve the residents' quality of life.
The Boum system – a quick introduction
Boum is an innovative Swiss system for anyone who wants to grow plants with little effort.✨🪻
1. A water tank with a pump and smart sensors that measure the water level.
2. A discreet hose supplies the pots with water. Up to 12 pots, over a distance of up to 20 m.
3. The plants draw water from a reservoir – exactly as much as they need.
4. The app lets you know when to top up the water or add fertiliser.
The result: guaranteed beautiful plants, even with little time or prior knowledge.
