There are many possibilities: for plants in your living room, for uncomplicated office maintenance, or for more ambiance in restaurants and practices. You absolutely don't have to worry about water damage, as the team invested a lot of time in overflow protection during development and installed various protective mechanisms in the Boum system.

The Boum Irrigation System for Indoor Use – Less Work, More Ambiance
Boum is primarily known for use on balconies and terraces. This makes sense, as plants are always supplied as needed, regardless of sun or rain. But the same principle also applies indoors – and there, too, we need more plants, as they demonstrably promote well-being and a good atmosphere.
Automatic Plant Watering for Homes – Ideal for Vacations, Daily Life, and Lacking a Green Thumb
Those who go on an extended vacation often have to hand over their keys to friends or neighbors. With Boum, this is no longer necessary. The system automatically supplies the plants while you enjoy the sun on the beach and monitor your system via the app. But Boum also helps in a stressful daily life; not everyone wants to water daily. Especially not by feel. Those without a green thumb can have difficulty estimating how much water a plant truly needs. The result: plants drown or dry out. With Boum irrigation, the plant decides how much water it wants to draw up through its roots – a constant supply is always ensured.
Smart Irrigation in the Office – Plant Care Without Effort
Plants not only create a more pleasant atmosphere in offices, they also demonstrably improve the working climate, ensure more productivity, and higher creativity. But who is responsible for watering? Often, no one feels responsible, and the cleaning team cannot take it on. Many offices therefore remain dull and without plants. With automated irrigation, the water tank only needs to be refilled every few weeks, and the problem is solved.
Greening Public Places like Restaurants and Practices – Ambiance for Visitors
Those who dine in a restaurant expect a certain ambiance. At the doctor's office, it's also easier to wait among plants than in bare walls. And whoever enters a reception area with green plants immediately has a more positive impression. In short: plants also create well-being in public spaces. With Boum, even with larger setups, no gardeners need to be hired for maintenance.
No Water Damage: The Protective Mechanisms in the Boum System
The advantages of Boum in indoor use are therefore obvious. But one issue always comes up: where there is water, there is potentially water damage. With Boum, water is pumped into the reservoirs of the plant pots, from which the plants draw water as needed. To prevent these reservoirs from overflowing, as the saucer often does with manual watering, various safety mechanisms have been installed.
Tests During Setup of the Irrigation System
The Boum system is designed so that the setup is not only easy, but also as error-prone as possible. If the hoses are connected according to the instructions, nothing can happen. To ensure this, every setup includes a pump test, which can be repeated at any time in the app. This ensures that all hoses are correctly connected and that your system does not leak anywhere.

The Overflow Protection: Multiple Mechanisms Provide Prevention
You comfortably water your plants with a watering can, perhaps pluck off a dry leaf, and then turn to other things. Suddenly, you hear dripping behind you – the saucer overflows, water drips over your shelf. This has certainly happened to all of us at some point. With Boum, this is prevented, because we invested a lot of time in overflow protection during development. Unlike drip irrigation or watering with a watering can, only exactly as much water is refilled as the plant actually needs. Several components ensure this:
1. The Float
The higher the water rises in the reservoir of the plant pot, the higher the float rises. Until it closes completely. A mechanical process that prevents flooding.
2. Flow Sensor
When the float closes, the water pressure changes. The Boum system is equipped with smart sensors – one of which measures the water flow and reports back to the control unit as soon as it decreases. Then the reservoir is full. The control unit stops the pump immediately. In short: if the reservoir is full, no more water is pumped.

3. Maximum Pumping Duration
If this doesn't happen for some reason – for example, due to a hose accidentally dislodged during cleaning – another safety measure kicks in. If the maximum pumping duration is exceeded, the control system stops pumping. The maximum pumping duration is adapted by the system to the number of pots and the average water consumption. This way, the entire tank isn't simply pumped empty – and potentially accidentally flooding the living room.

4. The Check Valve
On the balcony, it's not so bad if some water spills. In the living room, that would be more fatal. To eliminate even the last risk, we supply a check valve. This additionally prevents passive backflow of water into the pots – so no water will end up on the floor if the connection ever comes loose.

An Example: Wirz Tanner Immobilien AG – Green Office Thanks to Boum
No one in the office feels responsible for watering plants? Wirz Tanner Immobilien nevertheless opted for plants, but against more work – they equipped their Bern office with Boum, and since then the team only occasionally refills the water tanks. Office greenery without effort! And incidentally, they thus ensure greater employee productivity and well-being.

Conclusion
With Boum, smart, automatic plant irrigation also works safely and efficiently indoors – the system waters plants in homes, offices, and restaurants automatically, with water only needing to be refilled occasionally. Thanks to integrated overflow protection with various mechanisms, you still don't have to worry about water damage.
